महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-42, verse-27

आकाशं प्रथमं भूतं श्रोत्रमध्यात्ममुच्यते ।
अधिभूतं तथा शब्दो दिशस्तत्राधिदैवतम् ॥२७॥
27. ākāśaṁ prathamaṁ bhūtaṁ śrotramadhyātmamucyate ,
adhibhūtaṁ tathā śabdo diśastatrādhidaivatam.
