महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-153, verse-28

माघोऽयं समनुप्राप्तो मासः पुण्यो युधिष्ठिर ।
त्रिभागशेषः पक्षोऽयं शुक्लो भवितुमर्हति ॥२८॥
28. māgho'yaṁ samanuprāpto māsaḥ puṇyo yudhiṣṭhira ,
tribhāgaśeṣaḥ pakṣo'yaṁ śuklo bhavitumarhati.
28. māghaḥ ayam samanupāptaḥ māsaḥ puṇyaḥ yudhiṣṭhira
tribhāgaśeṣaḥ pakṣaḥ ayam śuklaḥ bhavitum arhati
28. yudhiṣṭhira ayam puṇyaḥ māghaḥ māsaḥ samanupāptaḥ
ayam śuklaḥ pakṣaḥ tribhāgaśeṣaḥ bhavitum arhati
28. O Yudhishthira, this auspicious month of Magha has now arrived. This bright fortnight should have only its last three days remaining.
