महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-128, verse-8

इन्द्रेण च पुरा वज्रं क्षिप्तं श्रीकाङ्क्षिणा मम ।
दग्ध्वा कण्ठं तु तद्यातं तेन श्रीकण्ठता मम ॥८॥
8. indreṇa ca purā vajraṁ kṣiptaṁ śrīkāṅkṣiṇā mama ,
dagdhvā kaṇṭhaṁ tu tadyātaṁ tena śrīkaṇṭhatā mama.

8. And formerly, by Indra, who desired glory (śrī), the thunderbolt was thrown at me. Having burnt my throat, it departed. Therefore, the designation of Śrīkaṇṭha (the glorious-throated one) came to be mine.
