महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-56, verse-31

एवं चैव नरश्रेष्ठ रक्ष्या एव द्विजातयः ।
स्वपराद्धानपि हि तान्विषयान्ते समुत्सृजेत् ॥३१॥
31. evaṁ caiva naraśreṣṭha rakṣyā eva dvijātayaḥ ,
svaparāddhānapi hi tānviṣayānte samutsṛjet.

svaparāddhān api hi tān viṣayānte samutsṛjet
31. naraśreṣṭha! evam ca eva dvijātayaḥ rakṣyāḥ eva.

31. O best of men, in this way, the twice-born (dvijātayaḥ) must indeed be protected. However, even if they have committed offenses against oneself, one should surely expel them to the borders of the kingdom.
