योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-6, verse-44

मनःसेनापतेः सेनामिमामिन्द्रियपञ्चकम् ।
जेतुं चेदस्ति मे यत्नो जयामि तदलं मुने ॥ ४४ ॥
manaḥsenāpateḥ senāmimāmindriyapañcakam ,
jetuṃ cedasti me yatno jayāmi tadalaṃ mune 44
44. manaḥsenāpateḥ senām imām indriyapañcakam
jetum cet asti me yatnaḥ jayāmi tat alam mune
44. mune,
cet manaḥsenāpateḥ imām indriyapañcakam senām jetum me yatnaḥ asti,

44. O sage, if I have the determination (yatna) to conquer this army of five senses, which serves as the general (senāpati) of the mind, then I shall conquer them. That indeed is sufficient.
