योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-6, verse-43

जितेन्द्रिया महासत्त्वा ये त एव नरा भुवि ।
शेषानहमिमान्मन्ये मांसयन्त्रगणांश्चलान् ॥ ४३ ॥
jitendriyā mahāsattvā ye ta eva narā bhuvi ,
śeṣānahamimānmanye māṃsayantragaṇāṃścalān 43
43. jitendriyāḥ mahāsattvāḥ ye te eva narāḥ bhuvi
śeṣān aham imān manye māṃsayantragaṇān calān
43. ye jitendriyāḥ mahāsattvāḥ te eva bhuvi narāḥ

43. Those who have controlled their senses and possess great inner strength (sattva) are truly human beings on this earth. As for the rest of them, I consider these moving masses of flesh to be mere machines made of meat.
