निरोद्धुं न च शक्नोमि स्पर्शलम्पटतां त्वचः ।
ग्रीष्मकालसमिद्धस्य तापमंशुमतो यथा ॥ २० ॥

niroddhuṃ na ca śaknomi sparśalampaṭatāṃ tvacaḥ ,
grīṣmakālasamiddhasya tāpamaṃśumato yathā 20

20. niroddhum na ca śaknomi sparśalampaṭatām tvacaḥ
grīṣmakālasamiddhasya tāpam aṃśumataḥ yathā

20. ca aham na śaknomi tvacaḥ sparśalampaṭatām niroddhum,
yathā grīṣmakālasamiddhasya aṃśumataḥ tāpam.

20. And I am unable to restrain the skin's (tvac) intense longing for touch, just as one cannot restrain the scorching heat of the sun (aṃśumat) blazing intensely in the summer season.
