योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-163, verse-34

स्थिते सुषुप्ततुर्ये द्वे सदा स्वप्नेऽथ जाग्रति ।
जाग्रत्स्वप्नावेकमेव तुर्यं वेत्ति तु बुद्धधीः ॥ ३४ ॥

jāgratsvapnāvekameva turyaṃ vetti tu buddhadhīḥ 34

34. While the two states of deep sleep and Turiya (the fourth state) are always present in the dream and waking states, the enlightened mind (buddhadhīḥ) knows the waking and dream states as solely Turiya.
