योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-163, verse-4

चिन्मात्रं पुरुषं विद्धि चेतनाज्जीवनामकम् ।
यच्चेतति स जीवोऽन्तस्तन्मयो भवति क्षणात् ॥ ४ ॥
cinmātraṃ puruṣaṃ viddhi cetanājjīvanāmakam ,
yaccetati sa jīvo'ntastanmayo bhavati kṣaṇāt 4
4. cinmātram puruṣam viddhi cetanāt jīvanāmakam yat
cetati saḥ jīvaḥ antaḥ tanmayaḥ bhavati kṣaṇāt

4. Understand the supreme cosmic person (puruṣa) as pure consciousness (cinmātra). From this consciousness, it is named the individual soul (jīva). Whatever (being) is conscious, that individual soul (jīva) residing within quickly becomes identical with that (supreme consciousness).
