योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-106, verse-56

सर्व एव जडा जीर्णा दर्पणा इव जन्तवः ।
समीपगत एवान्तः कुर्वतस्तु विचारणम् ॥ ५६ ॥
sarva eva jaḍā jīrṇā darpaṇā iva jantavaḥ ,
samīpagata evāntaḥ kurvatastu vicāraṇam 56
56. sarvaḥ eva jaḍā jīrṇā darpaṇāḥ iva jantavaḥ
| samīpagataḥ eva antaḥ kurvataḥ tu vicāraṇam
56. All living beings are indeed inert and worn out, like dull mirrors. However, for one who performs inner reflection (vicāraṇa), the inner reality (ātman) itself draws very close.
