श्रुता ग्रहगुणास्त्वत्तस्तथा राशिगुण मुने ।
श्रोतमिच्छामि भावानां भेदांस्तान् कृपया वद ॥१॥

1. śrutā grahaguṇāstvattastathā rāśiguṇa mune .

O sage, I have heard from you about the qualities of the planets (grahas) and similarly the qualities of the signs (rāśis). I now desire to hear about the distinctions of the houses (bhāvas); please kindly explain them.
