मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-45, verse-43

स्पर्शमात्रस्तु वै वायूरूपमात्रं समावृणोत् ।
ज्योतिश्चापि विकुर्वाणं रसमात्रं ससर्ज ह ॥४३॥
43. sparśamātrastu vai vāyūrūpamātraṃ samāvṛṇot .
jyotiścāpi vikurvāṇaṃ rasamātraṃ sasarja ha.
43. sparśamātraḥ tu vai vāyuḥ rūpamātram samāvṛṇot
| jyotiḥ ca api vikurvāṇam rasamātram sasr̥ja ha
43. Indeed, the wind (vāyu), which is merely touch (sparśa), enveloped the mere element (mātra) of form (rūpa). And light (jyotis), undergoing modification, created the mere element (mātra) of taste (rasa).
