मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-22, verse-7

मायावी दानवः सोऽथ मुनिरूपं समास्थितः ।
स प्राह राजपुत्रं तं पूर्ववैरमनुस्मरन् ॥७॥
7. māyāvī dānavaḥ so'tha munirūpaṃ samāsthitaḥ .
sa prāha rājaputraṃ taṃ pūrvavairamanusmaran.
7. māyāvī dānavaḥ saḥ atha munirūpam samāsthitaḥ
saḥ prāha rājaputram tam pūrvavairam anusmaran
7. That demon, skilled in illusion (māyā), had assumed the form of a sage; he then spoke to that prince, remembering their former enmity.
