मायावी दानवः सोऽथ मुनिरूपं समास्थितः ।
स प्राह राजपुत्रं तं पूर्ववैरमनुस्मरन् ॥७॥

That demon, skilled in illusion (māyā), had assumed the form of a sage; he then spoke to that prince, remembering their former enmity.
