मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-22, verse-3

दुर्वृत्ताः सन्ति शतशो दानवाः पापयोनयः ।
तेभ्यो न स्याद्यथा बाधा मुनीनां त्वं तथा कुरु ॥३॥
3. durvṛttāḥ santi śataśo dānavāḥ pāpayonayaḥ .
tebhyo na syādyathā bādhā munīnāṃ tvaṃ tathā kuru.

3. Hundreds of wicked demons (dānava), born of sin, exist. You must act so that no harm (bādhā) comes to the sages (muni) from them.
