मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-22, verse-27

राजा च तां मृतां दृष्ट्वा विना भर्त्रा मदालसाम् ।
प्रत्युवाच जनं सर्वं विमृश्य सुस्थमानसः ॥२७॥
27. rājā ca tāṃ mṛtāṃ dṛṣṭvā vinā bhartrā madālasām .
pratyuvāca janaṃ sarvaṃ vimṛśya susthamānasaḥ.
27. rājā ca tām mṛtām dṛṣṭvā vinā bhartrā madālasām
prati uvāca janam sarvam vimṛśya susthamānasaḥ
27. And the king, having seen Madālasā dead and without her husband, reflected deeply and, with a calm mind, addressed all the people.
