ततस्तथा महाक्रन्दः पौराणां भवनेष्वभूत् ।
यथैव तस्य नृपतेः स्वगेहे समवर्तत ॥२६॥

Then, a great wailing arose in the houses of the citizens, just as it had occurred in the king's own palace.
