पुत्रावूचतुः ।
ततः कुवलयाश्वस्य माता भर्तुरनन्तरम् ।
श्रुत्वा पुत्रवधं तादृक् प्राह दृष्ट्वा तु तं पतिम् ॥४०॥

tataḥ kuvalayāśvasya mātā bharturanantaram .
śrutvā putravadhaṃ tādṛk prāha dṛṣṭvā tu taṃ patim.

The two sons said: Then, Kuvalayāśva's mother, having heard of her son's slaying and seeing her husband, spoke to him in that way, following her husband's [statement].
