महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-24, verse-40

ते क्षत्रियाः क्षतैर्गात्रैर्हतभूयिष्ठवाहनाः ।
शरैः संपीड्यमानाश्च नातिव्यक्तमिवाब्रुवन् ॥४०॥
40. te kṣatriyāḥ kṣatairgātrairhatabhūyiṣṭhavāhanāḥ ,
śaraiḥ saṁpīḍyamānāśca nātivyaktamivābruvan.
40. te kṣatriyāḥ kṣataiḥ gātraiḥ hatabhūyiṣṭhavāhanāḥ
śaraiḥ saṃpīḍyamānāḥ ca na ativyaktam iva abruvan

ca śaraiḥ saṃpīḍyamānāḥ na ativyaktam iva abruvan
40. Those warriors (kṣatriya), with their bodies mangled by wounds and most of their mounts destroyed, tormented by arrows, spoke as if indistinctly.
