महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-15, verse-5

हयौघांश्च रथौघांश्च गजौघांश्च समन्ततः ।
अपातयद्रणे राजञ्शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः ॥५॥
5. hayaughāṁśca rathaughāṁśca gajaughāṁśca samantataḥ ,
apātayadraṇe rājañśataśo'tha sahasraśaḥ.

5. And O king (rājan), in the battle (raṇe), he caused hosts of horses, hosts of chariots, and hosts of elephants to fall everywhere, by hundreds and then by thousands.
