महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-7, verse-52

यां तु पृच्छसि मा राजन्दिव्यामेतां शशाकृतिम् ।
पार्श्वे शशस्य द्वे वर्षे उभये दक्षिणोत्तरे ।
कर्णौ तु नागद्वीपं च कश्यपद्वीपमेव च ॥५२॥
52. yāṁ tu pṛcchasi mā rājandivyāmetāṁ śaśākṛtim ,
pārśve śaśasya dve varṣe ubhaye dakṣiṇottare ,
karṇau tu nāgadvīpaṁ ca kaśyapadvīpameva ca.

śaśākṛtim pārśve śaśasya dve

52. O king, regarding this divine, hare-shaped (region) about which you ask me: the two sides of the hare are both the southern and northern regions (varṣas). However, its two ears are indeed the Nāgadvīpa and Kaśyapadvīpa islands.
