27.
The sacred (puṇyā) and auspicious (śubhā) Gaṅgā, also known as Bhāgīrathī, revered by the most virtuous (puṇyatamaiḥ), falls with an unceasing current (ajasravegena) into the beautiful and lunar lake (cāndramase hrade). Indeed (hi), that sacred (puṇyaḥ) lake, which resembles an ocean (sāgaropamaḥ), was created (utpāditaḥ) by her.
