Formerly (purā), the Great Lord (Maheśvara) indeed (vai) sustained her (tām) on his head (śirasā) for a hundred thousand years (śataṃ varṣasahasrāṇām), her who was irresistible (durdharām) even for mountains (parvataiḥ api).
