महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-96, verse-52

आख्यानं य इदं युक्तः पठेत्पर्वणि पर्वणि ।
न मूर्खं जनयेत्पुत्रं न भवेच्च निराकृतिः ॥५२॥

52. Whoever, being diligent, recites this narrative on every auspicious occasion, will not beget a foolish son, nor will he be subjected to disrespect.
