महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-96, verse-54

यश्च शास्त्रमनुध्यायेदृषिभिः परिपालितम् ।
स गच्छेद्ब्रह्मणो लोकमव्ययं च नरोत्तम ॥५४॥
54. yaśca śāstramanudhyāyedṛṣibhiḥ paripālitam ,
sa gacchedbrahmaṇo lokamavyayaṁ ca narottama.
54. yaḥ ca śāstram anudhyāyet ṛṣibhiḥ paripālitam
saḥ gacchet bráhmaṇaḥ lokam avyayam ca narottama
54. And that best among men (narottama) who meditates upon the sacred texts (śāstra) that have been preserved by the sages (ṛṣis) attains the imperishable realm of (brahman).
