महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-99, verse-13

संनद्धो दीक्षितः सर्वो योधः प्राप्य चमूमुखम् ।
युद्धयज्ञाधिकारस्थो भवतीति विनिश्चयः ॥१३॥
13. saṁnaddho dīkṣitaḥ sarvo yodhaḥ prāpya camūmukham ,
yuddhayajñādhikārastho bhavatīti viniścayaḥ.

13. Every warrior, fully prepared and consecrated (dīkṣita), upon reaching the vanguard of the army, becomes one who holds the authority to perform the Vedic ritual (yajña) of battle. This is a definite conclusion.
