न सुखेन न दुःखेन कदाचिदपि वर्तते ।
एवं नराणां मनसि त्रिषु भावेष्ववस्थिता ॥२२॥

evaṁ narāṇāṁ manasi triṣu bhāveṣvavasthitā.

22. It (the intellect) never operates solely with happiness or solely with sorrow. Similarly, among human beings, the mind (manas) too is situated in these three states (gunas).
