आत्ममोक्षनिमित्तं वै यतेत मतिमान्नरः ॥५॥

O Yudhiṣṭhira, when the world (loka) is established in such a way, full of many flaws, an intelligent person (matimān naraḥ) should truly strive for the sake of the liberation (mokṣa) of their self (ātman).
