श्रीभगवानुवाच ।
अर्जुन त्वं न हन्ता त्वमभिमानमलं त्यज ।
जरामरणनिर्मुक्तः स्वयमात्मासि शाश्वतः ॥ १ ॥
अर्जुन त्वं न हन्ता त्वमभिमानमलं त्यज ।
जरामरणनिर्मुक्तः स्वयमात्मासि शाश्वतः ॥ १ ॥

The Blessed Lord said: O Arjuna, you are not the slayer. Therefore, completely abandon this false identification (abhimāna). You yourself are the eternal Self (ātman), free from old age and death.
