sarga-ādau asau anudvignaprabodhaḥ cittadehaḥ (ca) ākāśa-ātmā mahān bhūtvā,

That supreme consciousness, characterized by undisturbed awakening and having consciousness itself as its body, at the beginning of creation, becomes vast and takes on the nature of space (ākāśa). From that point, it perceives its material aspect (prakṛti).
