sa-śailam kalpa-ante jagat iva viparyastam akhilam

vivṛtta-asaṅkhyā-aśva-dvirada-puruṣa-adhīśvara-ratha-prakṛtta-uṣṭra-grīvā-prasṛta-rudhira-udgāra-susarit
aśuṣka-āyudha-latam sa-śailam abhavat;

58. That battlefield (raṇodyānam) became death's garden, with creepers of fresh weapons and (piles of bodies like) mountains. It was as if the entire world (jagat) had been utterly overturned (viparyastam) at the end of a cosmic age (kalpa), with great rivers formed by the flowing gushes of blood from the severed (vivṛtta) countless horses, elephants, men, rulers, and chariots, and from the cut-off (prakṛtta) necks of camels.
