महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-3, verse-12

वधे चैव परो धर्मस्तथाधर्मः पलायने ।
ते स्म घोरां समापन्ना जीविकां जीवितार्थिनः ॥१२॥
12. vadhe caiva paro dharmastathādharmaḥ palāyane ,
te sma ghorāṁ samāpannā jīvikāṁ jīvitārthinaḥ.
12. vadhe ca eva paraḥ dharmaḥ tathā adharmaḥ palāyane
te sma ghorām samāpannāḥ jīvikām jīvitārthinaḥ
12. vadhe ca eva paraḥ dharmaḥ tathā palāyane adharmaḥ

12. Indeed, killing is the supreme natural law (dharma), while fleeing is unrighteousness (adharma). They, desiring to live, have resorted to a dreadful livelihood.
