तं चास्य मनसा द्रोणः पूजयामास विक्रमम् ।
लाघवं वासवस्येव संप्रेक्ष्य द्विजसत्तमः ॥३८॥

38. And Drona, the foremost among the twice-born (dvijas), having closely observed that prowess and his skill, honored it in his mind as if it belonged to Indra (Vasava).
