मन्ये वज्रधरस्यैष निनादो भैरवस्वनः ।
द्रोणे हते कौरवार्थं व्यक्तमभ्येति वासवः ॥२२॥

22. I believe this terrifying sound is the roar of Indra, the wielder of the thunderbolt. Clearly, Indra himself is coming for the sake of the Kauravas, now that Drona has been slain.
