तमसा चावकीर्यन्त सूर्यश्च कलुषोऽभवत् ।
संपतन्ति च भूतानि क्रव्यादानि प्रहृष्टवत् ॥४॥

4. Darkness spread all around, and the sun became dim. And flesh-eating creatures (bhūtāni) descended as if greatly delighted.
