महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-116, verse-9

भीष्मस्तु वेदनां धैर्यान्निगृह्य भरतर्षभ ।
अभितप्तः शरैश्चैव नातिहृष्टमनाब्रवीत् ॥९॥
9. bhīṣmastu vedanāṁ dhairyānnigṛhya bharatarṣabha ,
abhitaptaḥ śaraiścaiva nātihṛṣṭamanābravīt.

abhitaptaḥ śaraiḥ ca eva na atihṛṣṭamanāḥ abravīt

9. O best of Bharatas, Bhishma, though severely tormented by arrows, restrained his pain with great fortitude and spoke, his mind not at all cheerful.
