महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-267, verse-32

इत्युक्त्वा सहसौमित्रिरुपस्पृश्याथ राघवः ।
प्रतिशिश्ये जलनिधिं विधिवत्कुशसंस्तरे ॥३२॥
32. ityuktvā sahasaumitrirupaspṛśyātha rāghavaḥ ,
pratiśiśye jalanidhiṁ vidhivatkuśasaṁstare.
32. iti uktvā saha saumitriḥ upaspṛśya atha rāghavaḥ
| pratiśiśye jalanidhim vidhivat kuśasaṃstare
32. Having spoken thus, Rama, accompanied by Lakshmana, then performed the purification rite (by touching water) and lay down facing the ocean, properly, on a bed of kuśa grass.
