महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-213, verse-27

अमावास्यां संप्रवृत्तं मुहूर्तं रौद्रमेव च ।
देवासुरं च संग्रामं सोऽपश्यदुदये गिरौ ॥२७॥
27. amāvāsyāṁ saṁpravṛttaṁ muhūrtaṁ raudrameva ca ,
devāsuraṁ ca saṁgrāmaṁ so'paśyadudaye girau.
27. amāvāsyām sampravṛttam muhūrtam raudram eva ca
devāsuram ca saṃgrāmam saḥ apaśyat udaye girau
27. And he saw on the rising mountain a fierce moment that occurred on the new moon day, as well as a battle between gods and asuras.
