महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-213, verse-12

मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
एवमुक्त्वा गदां केशी चिक्षेपेन्द्रवधाय वै ।
तामापतन्तीं चिच्छेद मध्ये वज्रेण वासवः ॥१२॥
12. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca ,
evamuktvā gadāṁ keśī cikṣependravadhāya vai ,
tāmāpatantīṁ ciccheda madhye vajreṇa vāsavaḥ.
12. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca evam uktvā gadām keśī cikṣepa indra-vadhāya
vai tām āpatantīm ciccheda madhye vajreṇa vāsavaḥ
12. Mārkaṇḍeya said: Having spoken thus, Keśī indeed hurled the mace to slay Indra. Vāsava (Indra) then cut that incoming mace in the middle with his thunderbolt.
