महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-15, chapter-44, verse-32

पाञ्चालाः सुभृशं क्षीणाः कन्यामात्रावशेषिताः ।
न तेषां कुलकर्तारं कंचित्पश्याम्यहं शुभे ॥३२॥
32. pāñcālāḥ subhṛśaṁ kṣīṇāḥ kanyāmātrāvaśeṣitāḥ ,
na teṣāṁ kulakartāraṁ kaṁcitpaśyāmyahaṁ śubhe.
32. pāñcālāḥ su-bhṛśam kṣīṇāḥ kanyā-mātra-avaśeṣitāḥ
na teṣām kula-kartāram kaṃcit paśyāmi aham śubhe
32. The Pañcālas are greatly diminished, with only daughters remaining. I do not see anyone among them who could perpetuate their family, O auspicious one.
