महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-15, chapter-44, verse-29

न चोत्सहे तपोविघ्नं कर्तुं ते धर्मचारिणि ।
तपसो हि परं नास्ति तपसा विन्दते महत् ॥२९॥
29. na cotsahe tapovighnaṁ kartuṁ te dharmacāriṇi ,
tapaso hi paraṁ nāsti tapasā vindate mahat.
29. na ca utsahe tapas-vighnam kartum te dharma-cāriṇi
tapasaha hi param na asti tapasā vindate mahat
29. And I am unable to cause an obstruction to your ascetic practice (tapas), O righteous one. Indeed, there is nothing superior to asceticism (tapas); by means of ascetic practice (tapas), one attains greatness.
