महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-127, verse-42

किमर्थं च पुनर्देव प्रकृतिस्थः क्षणात्कृतः ।
तथैव द्रुमसंछन्नः कृतोऽयं ते महेश्वर ॥४२॥
42. kimarthaṁ ca punardeva prakṛtisthaḥ kṣaṇātkṛtaḥ ,
tathaiva drumasaṁchannaḥ kṛto'yaṁ te maheśvara.
42. kimartham ca punar deva prakṛtisthaḥ kṣaṇāt kṛtaḥ
tathā eva drumasamchannaḥ kṛtaḥ ayam te maheśvara
42. ca kimartham deva punar prakṛtisthaḥ kṣaṇāt kṛtaḥ ca
tathā eva maheśvara te ayam drumasamchannaḥ kṛtaḥ
42. And why, O god, were you instantly restored to your original nature (prakṛti)? And similarly, O great lord (Maheśvara), why was this (mountain) made covered with trees again by you?
