महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-189, verse-7

ब्रह्मोवाच ।
वैवस्वतो व्यापृतः सत्रहेतोस्तेन त्विमे न म्रियन्ते मनुष्याः ।
तस्मिन्नेकाग्रे कृतसर्वकार्ये तत एषां भवितैवान्तकालः ॥७॥
7. brahmovāca ,
vaivasvato vyāpṛtaḥ satraheto;stena tvime na mriyante manuṣyāḥ ,
tasminnekāgre kṛtasarvakārye; tata eṣāṁ bhavitaivāntakālaḥ.
7. brahmā uvāca | vaivasvataḥ vyāpṛtaḥ
satrahetoḥ tena tu ime na mriyante
manuṣyāḥ | tasmin ekāgre kṛtasarvakārye
tataḥ eṣām bhavitā eva antakālaḥ
7. Brahmā said: "Vaivasvata (Yama) is currently preoccupied with a sacrifice. That is why these humans are not dying. Once he, having concentrated, has completed all his duties, then their time of death will certainly arrive."
