स चापि केशौ हरिरुद्बबर्ह शुक्लमेकमपरं चापि कृष्णम् ।
तौ चापि केशौ विशतां यदूनां कुले स्त्रियौ रोहिणीं देवकीं च ।
तयोरेको बलदेवो बभूव कृष्णो द्वितीयः केशवः संबभूव ॥३१॥

31. sa cāpi keśau harirudbabarha; śuklamekamaparaṁ cāpi kṛṣṇam ,
tau cāpi keśau viśatāṁ yadūnāṁ; kule striyau rohiṇīṁ devakīṁ ca ,
tayoreko baladevo babhūva; kṛṣṇo dvitīyaḥ keśavaḥ saṁbabhūva.

31. saḥ ca api keśau hariḥ udbabarha śuklam ekam aparam
ca api kṛṣṇam tau ca api keśau viśatām yadūnām
kule striyau rohiṇīm devakīm ca tayoḥ ekaḥ
baladevaḥ babhūva kṛṣṇaḥ dvitīyaḥ keśavaḥ saṃbabhūva

31. And Hari (Viṣṇu) pulled out two hairs, one white and the other black. These two hairs entered the women Rohiṇī and Devakī in the Yadu family. One of them became Baladeva, and the second became Kṛṣṇa Keśava.
