महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-189, verse-24

तमब्रवीदुग्रधन्वा प्रहस्य नैवंशीलाः शेषमिहाप्नुवन्ति ।
एतेऽप्येवं भवितारः पुरस्तात्तस्मादेतां दरिमाविश्य शेध्वम् ॥२४॥
24. tamabravīdugradhanvā prahasya; naivaṁśīlāḥ śeṣamihāpnuvanti ,
ete'pyevaṁ bhavitāraḥ purastā;ttasmādetāṁ darimāviśya śedhvam.
24. tam abravīt ugradhanvā prahasya
na evaṃśīlāḥ śeṣam iha āpnuvanti
ete api evam bhavitāraḥ purastāt
tasmāt etām darīm āviśya śedhvam
24. Ugradhanvā (Shiva) spoke to him (Indra), laughing: "Those of such a disposition do not attain their end (śeṣa) here. These (other Indras) were also like this before. Therefore, enter this cave and rest."
