This being (eṣaḥ) is called the self-existent (svayambhū); he (saḥ) is also referred to as Virāṭ. While his very essence (ātman) is the cosmic egg (brahmāṇḍa) and his body is the entire world, in reality, he is purely of the nature of space (nabhas).
