योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-5, chapter-45, verse-31

आलोकयन्तमादाय तं करेण स वारणः ।
स्वकटेऽयोजयन्मेरुस्तटेऽर्कमिव सादरम् ॥ ३१ ॥
ālokayantamādāya taṃ kareṇa sa vāraṇaḥ ,
svakaṭe'yojayanmerustaṭe'rkamiva sādaram 31
31. ālokayantam ādāya tam kareṇa saḥ vāraṇaḥ
svakaṭe ayojayat meruḥ taṭe arkam iva sādaram
31. saḥ vāraṇaḥ kareṇa ādāya tam ālokayantam
sādaram svakaṭe ayojayat meruḥ taṭe arkam iva
31. That elephant (vāraṇa), taking him (the outcaste) who was still gazing, with its trunk, respectfully placed him on its flank, just as Mount Meru (meru) might respectfully position the sun (arka) upon its slope.
