पुरा भूत्वाद्य भूत्वा च भूयश्चेन्न भविष्यसि ।
तथापि क्षीणसंसारः किमर्थमनुशोचसि ॥ ४० ॥

If, having existed in the past and existing now, you will not exist again in the future, then even so, why do you, whose cycle of existence (saṃsāra) has ended, lament?
