योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-107, verse-38

दूरे त्यक्ता दया देहे भुजङ्गेनेव कंचुकम् ।
क्रौर्यं सुखेन संरम्भशरवर्षिं निनादि च ॥ ३८ ॥

38. Compassion was cast far away from the body, just as a snake (bhujaṅga) sheds its slough. And cruelty (kraurya) manifested easily, raining down arrows of rage and roaring.
