श्रुत्वा त्वेतन्महाराज क्षान्तमेव हतो न सः ।
यस्मादवश्यं दातव्या कन्या भर्त्रे हि दातृभिः ।
अस्मिन्नेवाभिसंप्राप्तं लोके विदितमस्तु ते ॥२८॥

28. śrutvā tvetanmahārāja kṣāntameva hato na saḥ ,
yasmādavaśyaṃ dātavyā kanyā bhartre hi dātṛbhiḥ ,
asminnevābhisaṃprāptaṃ loke viditamastu te.

28.
O great king, though this was heard, he was not killed; rather, it was simply tolerated. For indeed, givers must necessarily give a daughter to her husband. Let this be known to you as an established fact in this world.
