वनरैर्वध्यमानास्ते शस्त्राण्युत्सृज्य राक्षसाः ।
लङ्कामभिमुखाः सर्वे नष्टसंज्ञाः प्रधाविताः ॥३९॥

39. vānaraiḥ vadhyamānāḥ te śastrāṇi utsṛjya rākṣasāḥ
laṅkām abhimukhāḥ sarve naṣṭasaṃjñāḥ pradhāvitāḥ

39. Being slaughtered by the vānaras, those rākṣasas, having abandoned their weapons, all fled towards Laṅkā, completely losing their consciousness (saṃjñā).
